About St. John’s Ministries:

St. John’s Ministries’ mission is to honor the dignity, restore hope, and create lasting change for those experiencing homelessness or housing instability in the Green Bay community. We provide services across four locations, meeting the diverse needs of those we serve. At our two seasonal emergency shelters, we offer adults experiencing homelessness a safe place to sleep during the coldest six months of the year. At the Micah Center and Wellspring, our two daytime resource centers, we equip individuals facing homelessness, as well as at-risk community members, with the tools and support they need to achieve self-sufficiency year-round. Through our services, we help those in need rebuild their lives and work toward long-term stability.

Position Overview:
St. John’s Ministries (SJM) is seeking a Donor Services Intern to support fundraising and community engagement efforts. This hands-on role provides experience in nonprofit operations, donor relations, and strategic communications, all while helping to sustain essential services for those experiencing homelessness. It’s an opportunity to develop skills in fundraising, marketing, and donor engagement while making a meaningful impact.

Key Responsibilities – all in collaboration with the Donor Services Manager

  • Legacy Giving Program Development: Support the launch of a program recognizing donors who include SJM in their estate plans.
  • Monthly Donor Engagement: Develop materials and plan outreach to engage and thank recurring donors and encourage more individuals to consider monthly support.
  • Donor Research: Research opportunities for individual and corporate giving.
  • Content Creation: Develop engaging content for the website and email communications.
  • Virtual Production: Film and edit video content to highlight key aspects of the organization.
  • Branded Materials Design: Create printed materials that strengthen donor connections.
  • Stewardship Assistance: Lead select donor appreciation efforts, track outreach, and document donor responses.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interest in making an impact through fundraising initiatives.
  • Proficiency in video editing and design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Ability to take initiative while also thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Comfort working in a facility that serves individuals that, at times present with mental health, substance abuse, and trauma-related challenges, always with supportive staff and security present.
  • Commitment to acting with integrity, professionalism, and discretion to maintain the confidentiality of those we serve.
