Online Presence Intern
Note This position is part of the Community Impact Internship Program. Please contact your Career Advisor with any questions.
In this paid internship, you will be working with a non-profit arts organization's online presence. Your main responsibility will be maintaining our website and online calendar for regional creative events. Our website mirrors the content of the monthly print journal we distribute, which contains literary, film, and exhibition reviews; poetry; and essays.
You will be an important part of a small and passionate team, operating both virtually and in-person as appropriate. Working with our social media manager, you will develop a schedule of newsletters to keep our online audience engaged. You will be in charge of our website, built on the Ghost publishing platform, and work with our editor to make sure that all content is online and attributed to our writers. You will also be included to voice your thoughts in meetings on ways to enhance our web presence—in design and in operability—and ways to build up our free and paid subscriber base.
This position requires an individual who is both creative and detail-oriented. While there are weekly and monthly deadlines, you will be able to work on your own schedule. You will work directly for our editor-in-chief. If you are not familiar with the Ghost platform, you will receive training. Likewise, this position also requires knowledge of basic image editing, and training can be provided as needed.
