VPI, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fundraising & Financial Development Intern to support our growing development and fundraising initiatives. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor stewardship, event coordination, and grant writing. The intern will work closely with both the Marketing and Development Manager and the Grant Coordinator, contributing to key projects that support VPI’s mission of fostering social, vocational, and economic independence for individuals in our community.

This position is ideal for a student or recent graduate interested in nonprofit management, fundraising, and grant writing who wants to build practical skills in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Support (Under the guidance of the Marketing and Development Manager):

• Develop and organize donor outreach materials, including thank-you letters, acknowledgment templates, and impact reports.
• Research prospective donors and corporate sponsors to support fundraising goals.
• Assist with donor database management, ensuring accurate recording of gifts and donor interactions.
• Support social media and email campaigns related to fundraising initiatives.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop creative content that supports fundraising efforts.

Grant Writing & Financial Development (Under the guidance of the Grant Coordinator):

• Assist with drafting and preparing grant applications and proposals.
• Research potential grant opportunities and funding sources.
• Help track and monitor grant application deadlines and reporting requirements.
• Collect and organize data and impact stories to support grant proposals.
• Maintain accurate records of grant activity and funding progress.
• Support post-award grant reporting, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
