This position is for an Air Quality Specialist I position in the Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management's Office of Air Resources’ Permitting Section.  The position is an entry level position and will be involved in the review of applications to construct, install or modify sources of air pollution or air pollution control systems and review air dispersion modeling analysis reports.

The Air Quality Specialist I will be responsible for recommending to a superior the approval or denial of an application and if approvable, preparing a draft permit for issuance.  

The work is very detail-oriented and technical in nature.  Due to the technical nature of the work, an engineering degree is preferred, however an EIT is NOT required.  

All qualified educational degrees will be considered, including, Civil, Environmental and Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Meteorology and Atmospheric Science and the Physical Sciences.
