Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Intern

JOB SUMMARY

The Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Intern will assist with listings, sales and marketing functions, property tours, research, data entry, and clerical assignments. The Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Intern will support brokers in their efforts to lease and sell listed property, handle buyer and tenant representation assignments, engage in calls and meetings to generate and qualify clients and customers, property tours, prepare marketing materials, and draft letters of intent and offers to lease or purchase. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shadowing advisors (property tours, meetings, calls, business development, etc.)
  • Assist advisors by searching for listings, obtaining photos, and summarizing information.
  • Conduct research on sales of industrial and office buildings and land in the Madison area.
  • Update information on properties, spaces, and comparable leases within CRM software.
  • Research key decision makers at potential prospect’s firms for later follow up by advisors.
  • Support advisors’ community engagement efforts, either personal or online/social media.
  • Hang signs, deliver documents and keys, open or lock spaces; other errands.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Systems, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Ability to learn cloud-based CRM software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Time management skills.
  • Comfort with new technology.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics or other related field.
  • Personal mode of transportation
  • Valid driver’s license

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work both indoor and outdoor. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
