Occupational Therapist
Position Title: Occupational Therapist - District Wide
Required Qualifications:
- Valid Wisconsin license issued by the Department of Public Instruction.
- Possesses those characteristics which will promote success in fulfilling the job goals and responsibilities.
- Ability to develop positive constructive relations with students, staff and the public.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluates student’s functional performance in the areas of daily living skills, school/work activities, play/leisure and vocational skills, as well as neuromuscular, sensorimotor and perceptual performances.
- Participates in multi-disciplinary team decision making and IEP goal development.
- Designs therapeutic programs to assist the student in achieving educationally relevant long-term (annual) goals and measurable short-term objectives.
- Provides intervention through direct therapy, monitoring or consultation.
- Provides consultative services to parents regarding the student’s present level of functioning and its effect on functioning at home, school and in the community.
- Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect self, students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Acts as a liaison between medical and educational systems regarding the student’s physical condition and its effect on learning and level of functioning.
- Complete all documentation of evaluation results, annual student progress report and discharge summary notes.
- Provides consultative services to educational staff relative to the individuals student’s level of functioning and its effect on learning.
- Recommends purchase of equipment for pupil therapy and assists in the procurement of the same.
- Strives to maintain and improve professional competence through staff development activities.
- Performs other duties related to the job summary as assigned by the principal or Executive Director of Student Services.
Reports To: Executive Director of Student Services
Terms of Employment: To begin at the start of the 2024 – 2025 school year, 190 days per contract year. Salary, benefits, and other employment terms per the Employee Handbook.
