Regional Integration Facilitator

The City of Bismarck is hiring a Regional Integration Facilitator to serve as a liaison working to bridge relationships between local and state government, community resources, the local population and individuals who are new to the community. This position will work closely with stakeholders who provide case management services and promote the inclusion of new residents to strengthen cross-cultural understanding to build strong communities and enhanced economic outcomes. 

Must be able to work independently, demonstrate initiative and maintain effective working relationships with administrative and other personnel, public agencies, and the general public. Knowledge and experience working with individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP) and knowledge of challenges faced by refugees and vulnerable populations preferred. This is a grant-funded full-time position working in the Public Health Department.  

As an employee of Public Health, individual must participate in emergency preparedness response activities and may be required to report for special assignments during a public health emergency or disaster situation.  

This position may include some work outside of normal business hours (evenings/weekends) to meet the public health needs of the community.  

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, business or public administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience working in a similar position. 

Special Requirements:

  • Must have vehicle for use while on duty. Possession of valid drivers license. 
  • Knowledge and experience working with individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP).
  • Knowledge of benefit, housing, employment, education, health, and social work systems.
  • Knowledge of challenges faced by refugees and vulnerable populations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain and describe existing community resources and services available in the community.
