The Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources (IANR) Business Centers are a cohesive team that provide professional service, efficient resource management, and effective solution development with integrity, accountability and focus on the customer.

As a Grants Specialist, you will:

  • Serve in a customer-facing, consultative role and be responsible for providing grant support in a timely and accurate manner and in compliance with all applicable institutional, UNL, State, and Federal regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  • Primarily execute and review routine and complex pre- and post-award grant transactions.
  • Work closely with employees within the departments served, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Function under limited supervision and be expected utilize technology to provide professional services.


This position is located at the Nebraska Innovation Campus in Lincoln, NE.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree plus four (4) years of related grant management and/or finance work experience; Additional relevant education or experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience with SAP or large integrated finance system.
  • A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA guidelines on the disclosure of information.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

Posted Salary  $51,961/yr minimum
