Production Assistant - Park TV

About the position 

Responsible for production and operation assistance for the city's ParkTV on Location TV Operations and provide quality customer service and communications.
 
Position has variable hours but is primarily evenings and weekends, approximately 10 - 25 hours per week. Must be available to work in the summer months (May - August). Will consider high school students if availability fits business needs.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate cameras and playback systems for city-managed cable TV channels.
  • Create and/or perform graphics-related work as assigned to meet the needs of the division.
  • Provide department production of community event programs and related audio/visual assistance including all aspects of pre-production, production and post-production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

 

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid MN driver's license.
  • Ability to:
    • Work evenings and weekends, including in the summer (May - August).
    • Follow directions and get along well with fellow co-workers.
    • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving whole body, including lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs of equipment.
  • Must be 16 years of age.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
  • Must be available for, attend and be on time for scheduled shoots.
  • Related work or volunteer experience with municipal government or cable TV operations.
  • Working knowledge of video production process and equipment.

 

 Desired Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in video production or related field
  • 1 year experience in a similar position.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and comfort with supporting the city’s strategic objectives for advancing racial equity.
