PROJECT MANAGER

Hoffman & McNamara Nursery and Landscape offers public space landscaping and contracting services and is a wholesale nursery in Hastings, Minnesota. We have proudly served Minnesota and the upper Midwest area since 1977. We strive to be as resourceful and efficient as possible, working to incorporate sustainability into our processes with the highest quality of workmanship. From our wholesale nursery, we install public sector landscapes throughout the communities you live in and visit. You’ll find our work along freeway interchanges, parkways, golf courses and various parks. Our 160-acre nursery contains over 40,000 trees currently in production with a variety of field grown and container shade, ornamental, and evergreen selections. Our company operates on strong core values and at Hoffman & McNamara we take great pride in the landscapes we install and the trees we provide. Constantly learning and innovating, we strive to be industry leaders and to set the standard.

Location: Hastings, MN

Wage: We offer a competitive hourly salary and full benefits package. Starting salary $60,000-$65,000 annually.

Schedule: Full time, seasonal position (winters off from approximately Mid-December through Mid-February) depending on seasonality. Overtime during portions of season.

About the Position:

This position is primarily an in-office position with some field work required, focusing on the details related to managing medium to large scale landscape construction projects. Project Managers are responsible for understanding scope and specifications of contract documents after project has been estimated and awarded to Hoffman and McNamara. Daily tasks often include project scheduling and phasing, sub-contractor management, underground utility locate management, strategizing project approach, project material procurement, submittals & close out documents, change order execution, project billing, and problem discovery and solving. Communication is a large component of this position. Candidates will internally collaborate with estimators, project manager(s), project coordinator, project superintendent, project foreman, and office manager/finance. Also, frequent external dialogue with various sub-contractors, general contractors, project owners, project inspectors, project designers, suppliers, and utility locate representatives is required.

About the Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will strive to ensure a quality experience for our clients from contract award thru project completion. An organized professional with excellent communication skills, who can work effectively while juggling multiple projects in a team environment. Must have above average proficiency with computer skills and a combination of construction management degree or related field with some work-related experience (landscaping, construction, farming, etc.).
