We are looking for a dynamic, organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Part Time Intern in Menominee, MI.

The Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream from procurement to design and manufacturing to distribution. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics, segment Procurement and the design and manufacture of Wear Components (Undercarriage and Ground Engaging Tools) and Maintenance Components (Seals, Tubes & Hardware, Hose & Couplings, Fluids and Filters).

As a Part Time Intern, you will work independently or as part of a team focusing on improvements in specific areas related to production scheduling & material planning. These areas may include data collection, process improvements, standard work and project coordination. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Learn scheduling & planning basics from supply chain personnel.
• Work collaboratively with engineering, supply chain & customer service to develop & implement project coordination process for new components.
• Analyze inventory levels to identify / implement improvements related to quantity & storage.
• Implementation of employee submitted Continuous Improvement ideas for supply chain.
• Creation and maintenance of supply chain work instruction documents

Internship Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled full time at a 2-year or 4-year university/college in one of the following degree programs: Engineering Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business.
• Minimum 2.8/4.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average (no rounding) at current institution
• Expected graduation date of December 2024 or later.
• Applicant must be within a daily commute driving distance to the facility in which they will be working (Menominee, MI).
• Must be able to work full-time (40 hours per week) during the summer. There may be the potential to work part-time through the school year (15-20 hours per week).

Top Candidates will also have:

• Leadership experience (either leading teams or projects)
• Previous technical internship, co-op, or research/relevant experience
• Highly proficient written and verbal communication skills

Additional Information:

This position does not offer relocation.

This position requires 10% or less travel.

Start date for this position will be summer 2024.
