This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected).

Duties

At the GS-3 grade level, you will:

• Performs or assists with basic aspects of field sampling or laboratory experiments.
• Uses simple instruments to perform repetitive routine tasks.
• Receives training in the proper function and maintenance of laboratory/scientific equipment.
• Assists in the performance of other standardized support duties such as the collection of literature references and the organization of files.

At the GS-4 grade level, you will:

• Performs routine laboratory testing or conducts routine aspects of field sampling or laboratory experiments.
• Receives training in the maintenance of laboratory/scientific equipment and assists in the maintenance of instruments for proper function.
• Performs routine cleaning of glassware, utensils, equipment, field instruments, work areas, etc.
• Assists in the performance of other standardized support duties such as the collection of literature references and the organization of files.
