Reentry Program Manager

Position Summary: Working within the Office of the Commissioner of Probation of the Massachusetts Probation Service (MPS), the Reentry Program Manager assists the Statewide Manager for Reentry Services in providing and monitoring a range of housing resources for those recently released from incarceration or those struggling to remain in the community due to homelessness or other challenges. The position assists in the management of current contracts and grant programs as well as exploring opportunities for statewide expansion of different housing models for this population. The position will collect data and create written reports in monitoring contract obligations and delivery of services to ensure programs are operating at the highest level and effectiveness. Along with the Statewide Manager, the Reentry Program Manager also works to ensure that effective case management and coordination occur to support successful reentry, assessable housing resources to promote public safety.

Supervision Received: Receives assignments and general direction from the Statewide Manager for Reentry Services or his/her designee.

Duties: Reentry Programs
• Participate in activities such as bi- weekly on-site program visits to observe reentry program operations.
• Gather information to make informed reports on agency performance.
• Collaborate with referral source to ensure expectations of reporting and individual program objections are fulfilled.
• Create data tracking system for census and waitlist information at each site including demographics of residents referred.
Sober Homes
• Data collection and management
• Detail information on geo-mapping of sober home location and usage
• Backup assistance for invoices reconciliation.
• Communication with all referral sources and MASH for support as needed.

Additional duties:
• Performance monitoring and data analysis
• Participates in strategic planning with the Statewide Manager for Reentry Services
• Contract Management
• Assists with statewide needs assessments, reentry initiatives, bed expansion in geographical service area, report preparation and writing including data graphing
Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements: These are the minimum requirements necessary to apply for a position of Reentry Program Manager:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and Four (4) years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers and related software including Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel and similar business software.

Knowledge of and ability to deal effectively with the general public as well as with local courts.

Ability to initiate and carry out projects with a high degree of independence;

Ability to organize work, determine priorities, establish clear work expectations and standards, and communicate effectively orally and in writing;

Ability to analyze problems and to develop effective solutions to problems;

Ability to travel to court locations throughout the Department.

 

Employment with the Trial Court is contingent upon passage of a criminal record check.
