Availability: Approximately 6-10 hours per week between late January - May 2023
Position Title: LWVWI Social Media Intern
Supervisor: Molly Carmichael, Communications Manager
Position Summary: The League of Women Voters of Wisconsin, a grassroots, nonpartisan, political organization, is seeking a qualified intern to assist with the following tasks:
- Creating videos and visual content for LWVWI’s communication outlets (social media, web, emails, etc.)
- Create a strategy and regular content for LWVWI’s new Tik Tok account
- Editing video clips from webinars for social media use and other short-form content
- Brainstorming and pursuing other ideas or areas of interest to inform voters about the spring elections
Through this work, the intern will gain experience in the nonpartisan, nonprofit voter education work of the League of Women Voters and professional communications/marketing experience. The internship offers:
- Experience interacting with League staff and volunteers through committee and other meetings
- Flexible hours - approximately 6 to 10 hours per week
- Can work remotely or at the office: 612 W. Main St, Suite 200, near UW campus and downtown, on bus routes and a bike path
- Friendly office
- Nominal stipend of $300
Meet with Molly or other LWVWI staff weekly to coordinate internship assignments and activities. Meetings can provide a regular opportunity for feedback on how the internship is going.
