Part-Time Customer Service Specialist, Bookstore and Coffee Shop

LOCATION: Green Bay
STANDARD HOURS: 12-16 hours per week, between the hours of 8am – 6pm Monday – Thursday and 8am – 4pm Fridays. Schedule to be determined at the time of hire. Flexibility required to meet the needs of our department and customers.
POSITION SUMMARY
Provide a unique customer experience by maintaining a high level of prompt, friendly service while preparing quality beverages in the coffee shop and assisting student customers with their course materials purchases in the bookstore. The bookstore and coffee shop customer service specialist presents oneself professionally and demonstrates superior listening, verbal, and people skills to all customers and team members.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
·        Provide customers with a positive experience by utilizing clear communication skills to ascertain customer needs
·        Follow cash handling and cash register procedures and policies
·        Prepare and sell beverages based on customer requests. Assist students with course materials questions and retrieving course materials from Bookstore shelves. Maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices
·        Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise, the coffee shop and its menu, and perform general office work
·        Assist with receiving, pricing, and shelving books, merchandise, and coffee shop supplies
·        Maintain the bookstore and coffee shop environments by routinely: stocking merchandise and floor displays, straightening the sales floor, cleaning shelves, counters, tables, and grinders, removing trash and recycling, and cleaning and sanitizing machines and equipment according to established guidelines.
·        Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines in addition to established procedures for opening and closing the NWTC Bookstore and coffee shop.
· Assist with picking, packaging and shipping NWTC Bookstore website orders
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:  High School Graduate
Experience: One year of previous customer service, cash register and cash handling experience.
**An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
Computer Skills:
Basic computer skills
Other Requirements:
Cash Register and cash handling skills
