Management and Program Analysis Undergraduate Intern

As a GAO Undergraduate Intern (Management and Program Analysis), you will work within one of GAO's Chief Administrative Offices or Staff Office to increase your knowledge, skills, and abilities. The work assignments may involve any of the following tasks:
  • Develops knowledge of the roles and mission within GAO.
  • Develops knowledge of analytical and evaluative methods and techniques needed to carry out individual work assignments.
  • Participates actively in scheduled training programs.
  • Participates with senior staff in conducting non routine projects.
  • Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects and initiatives.

Interns at GAO are assigned a supervisor in their work unit that assigns day-to-day work responsibilities and provides regular feedback and professional support. Interns participate in training relevant to their work assignments and have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of GAOwide learning and development opportunities.  

To qualify for the GS-4 level, you MUST be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree seeking program, and meet one of the following criteria:
  1. You must have completed 60 semester hours or 90 quarter credits of Bachelor's level education; or
  2. You must possess an Associate's degree.
NOTE: You must be a current student enrolled in an undergraduate program seeking a degree from an accredited educational institution on a full or half-time basis. If at any point during the internship (and for any reason) your status as a student changes to that of a non-student, your internship will be terminated.
