Description
The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation's (DOCCR) Adult Corrections Facility (ACF) is seeking a Laundry Service Operator. This position will instruct and give direction to residents in the operation of laundry equipment, oversee laundry pickup and distribution, unload, receive, and distribute supplies, and provide general support of quality assurance procedures to ensure compliance to industry and safety standards.

Location and hours: 
This position is located at the ACF at 1145 Shenandoah Ln, Plymouth, MN 55447. There is no public transportation to this location. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday with rotated weekend schedules.

In this position, you will:
·      Assist, instruct, and provide supervision to residents in the operation of washers, dryers, and distribution of laundry.
·      Instruct, direct, and provide supervision to residents in the stocking of goods and supplies.
·      Assist and direct residents in loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
·      Maintain ACF cleanliness standards in storeroom, dock, and laundry areas.
·      Order supplies and maintain records and inventory.
·      Deliver supplies to departments within the ACF.
·      Oversee machinery and soap distribution to ensure equipment is operating according to manufacture specifications.  
·      Maintain security in the laundry area.
Need to have:
·      One of the following:
o  Two years of general work experience.
o  Note: Vocational/technical or college coursework can be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
·      Access to reliable transportation.
Nice to have:
·      Experience working in a secure facility. 
·      Basic knowledge and skill in using a computer to access and enter data.
·      Ability to:
o  Supervise and work alongside of up to eight residents/inmates at a time.
o  Manage problems and resolve conflicts between residents.
o  Bend, twist, and stretch as needed to perform laundry and storeroom tasks.
o  Walk and push a cart for extended periods of time.
o  Lift up to 50 pounds while unloading washing machines.
o  Work effectively with an increasingly diverse client population.

Individuals convicted for any level of Criminal Sexual Conduct are disqualified from being hired into any position within the DOCCR under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). Other past involvement with the criminal court system will not automatically disqualify you from working at the DOCCR; individual circumstances are reviewed and evaluated confidentially.
