Infection Control Nursing Specialist
This position is responsible as the lead worker in the Outpatient Clinic area, Infection Preventionist and the back up to the Employee Health Nurse. Duties include:
- Direction and participation in the daily functioning of the Outpatient Clinics.
- Management of the Infection Control Program.
- Cooperation with Employee Health Services.
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin. Eligible is defined as your license is currently in progress with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services, or you currently hold a license in another state and are eligible to obtain a license in the State of Wisconsin. You must obtain licensure by the time of appointment.
- Professional experience facilitating or scheduling appointments with community physicians, clinics, and/or hospitals.
- Experience participating in clinics based on consultant follow-up recommendations and referrals.
- Experience using current infection prevention and management practices and regulatory requirements.
Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:
- Experience applying instructional methods and adult learning principles.
- Experience working with Employee Health functions, FMLA, Workers Compensation, and nursing assessments on an emergent basis.
- Experience monitoring infectious disease reports from units and culture reports from laboratory.
- Certification in the Association for Professionals in Fection Control and Epidemiology, or related formal education.
