City Clerk

Do you have an interest in local government? Want to work closely with Elections and City Council? Are you a responsible, organized individual? Join us! We are currently accepting applications for the City Clerk position. This position plays a vital administrative role in overseeing various legislative proceedings; supervising, on average, 500 election workers during an election cycle; running 20 polling sites; and more! Duties include: the coordination of public information requests for residents, advisory boards, and the City Council; the preparation of City Council agendas and packets; the maintenance of City Council proceedings; organization and oversight of Elections; and such other related work as required by Wisconsin Statutes.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in business, legal studies, political science, or a related field; possess or obtain (within 60 days of hire) and maintain election certification from the Wisconsin Elections Commission; possess or obtain and maintain annual Board of Review certification from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue; possess or begin process for certification (within 60 days of hire) as a Wisconsin Certified Municipal Clerk; and possess or obtain (within 30 days of hire) and maintain a valid Wisconsin driver’s license. 10 years of progressively responsible work experience or leadership experience in a related field may be substituted for education. This position is also required to attend all evening City Council meetings.
