Club House Program Assistant (Part Time)
Job Summary: As a Program Assistant, you will be responsible for leading engaging activities, providing targeted academic support to members (ages 7-17 years old), and filling in where needed during program hours. You will help kids grow in their academic, social and emotional development by leading them through a variety of curriculum that promotes learning, positive behavior choices and character development. In addition, you will establish a positive rapport with children and program staff and ensure Club standards for programming are met at all times.
Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent highly preferred; high school seniors with a strong interest in education are invited to apply.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and to develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
- Ability and desire to work with youth ages 7-18 from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of youth development.
- Ability to mentor youth and manage behavior problems in a positive way.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written skills.
Major Responsibilities
- Facilitates and manages group enrichment activities while maintaining a fun, yet productive environment (10-15 members).
- Implements the delivery of program components, making certain that participants are engaged and are adequately supervised.
- Supports the Program Coordinator in keeping the academic area neat and organized. Ensures that work area fosters physical and emotional safety.
- Builds supportive relationships with youth and staff
- Utilizes the Youth Development Strategy in alignment with PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) to maintain a positive behavioral environment.
- During shift, support numerous program areas to cover staff breaks, transition periods, meals, and clean-up
- Supports the Assistant Unit Manager and other staff in keeping the Clubhouse neat and organized. Ensures that work area fosters physical and emotional safety.
