Public Relations & Volunteer Program Manager

St. Vincent de Paul Green Bay is seeking a full-time Public Relations & Volunteer Program Manager, with potential start date of mid October. This is a salaried-exempt position, reporting to the Director of Operations and entitled to our full benefit package after 60 days. The hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 am – 4 pm, with flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends for special events or volunteer fairs.

Job Summary
This role will assist the senior leadership team to manage communication between Saint Vincent de Paul Green Bay and other organizations and the community at-large by developing and executing effective communication and media relations programs, which includes oversight of the organization’s extensive volunteer program.

Essential Functions:
• Assist senior leadership in maintaining a message and presence that is in keeping with the mission and vision of The Society of St Vincent de Paul as a larger collective
• Coordinate all public relations activities, leading the development of a marketing communications plan including strategy, goals, budget, and tactics based upon input from the senior leadership team
• Develop an approved media strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media, engaging diverse audiences across traditional and new media outlets
• Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
• Create content for press releases, website and social media presence
• Manage media inquiries and interview requests
• Assist senior leadership team in evaluating opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis
• Periodic attendance of off-site community and volunteer events on behalf of Saint Vincent de Paul Green Bay
• Maintain the communications recipient list and assist senior leadership in determining the appropriate recipients of specified content
• Maintain good community relations through oversight of the Saint Vincent de Paul Green Bay volunteer program
• Advocate for volunteers and paid staff, one to the other, and being a liaison between the two
• Carry out all functions of volunteer recruitment, inquiries, application, interview, and advising on retention methods and volunteer appreciation
• Encourage and assist other team members in determination of volunteer placement and hand them off to staff for training and fulfillment of volunteer duties
• Greet volunteer groups and provide an introduction to Saint Vincent de Paul Green Bay through tours of the facility and telling the Saint Vincent de Paul Green Bay story as appropriate
• Maintain data entry and software management pertaining to the volunteer program using the existing software
• Assist in event planning
