Public Alternative School Math Educator

This position serves students in grades 6-12 attending the West40 High Needs Alternative Learning Options Program and Regional Safe School, located in Hillside, Illinois. 

Credentials: Professional Educator Licensure (PEL) in secondary education mathematics is preferred. Our students need to see themselves in our staff and feel authentic connections.
Candidates of color or experienced in serving youth of color are encouraged to apply.

This candidate must be strength-based, trauma-informed, able to share in creating a restorative climate, a GREAT team player and dedicated to serving the most vulnerable students and families. Most importantly, this candidate must be a compassionate individual with a heart for young people, eager to grow and a relentless passion to serve

Job responsibilities include: instruction of math classes, attendance at monthly parent programs, participation in student led-conferences, transition planning, and data collection. This position fills the needs of the school community; from helping greet kids in the morning, to stepping in a classroom if needed, or provide counsel as a mentor, role model and educator. 

This a ten month position and follows a typical school calendar.
