Equity Research
Looking for an outstanding opportunity to acquire hands-on experience with fundamental analysis and the investment research process? The Equity Research Associate internship program gives interns the chance to obtain and develop the core research skills needed to jumpstart a successful and exciting career in investment management!
Fidelity's Equity Division is responsible for handling more than 130 diversified mutual funds and more than 78 industry specific funds. Assets under management total approximately $788 billion.

Equity Research Associate Internship
Equity Research Associate interns support real investment decisions by building financial models, completing financial analysis, and conducting proprietary research. This internship gives maximum exposure into the holistic research process through collaboration with our managing director of research, analysts and portfolio managers.

Responsibilities
Interns will have the opportunity to conduct research to make investment recommendations on a variety of stocks across different sub-sectors. Interns will have the freedom to do their own analytical research, connect with corporate management teams, industry specialists, and Wall Street analysts, in order to develop investment recommendations for our funds. The stock recommendations will be solely attributed to the intern and communicated to all our portfolio managers. The research is primarily autonomous, with the opportunity to collaborate with fellow interns and utilize the Fidelity network around you. The program is led by our director of research, and each intern will be paired with a peer in the research department who will mentor them throughout the summer.

Education and Experience
Class of 2023 or 2024 Bachelor’s degree candidates
Proven initiative and intellectual interest in studies/extracurricular activities related to the financial markets
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proactive, seeks additional responsibilities and learning opportunities
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Demonstrated expertise using Excel
Highly motivated independent problem solvers, ability to think outside of the box and bring a unique perspective
High levels of integrity
Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints

Location
Hong Kong or Tokyo (Note: you will be able to select in application process which location(s) you are applying to)

Intern Program Dates
June 2022 – August 2022

Additional Opportunities
As part of the summer experience, interns are matched with a member of the research department who will mentor and coach them throughout their assignment. Interns are also encouraged to attend various networking and social events where they can expand their network and deepen their knowledge of Fidelity.

Training
Prior to starting, interns are encouraged to participate in an online training offered by Fidelity to help set you up for success. We will also provide in-depth practical skills training in the first week of the internship, as well as informal training and support throughout.

After the Internship
Top-performing interns may receive a full-time offer into our high-potential Equity Research Associate program, or another internship for the following summer dependent on graduation date. Upon acceptance to the full-time program, you would join a small class of full-time associates to continue your development after graduation. This includes regular check-ins with the Managing Director of Research, monthly meetings with your class, and ongoing mentorship. These programs begin in Boston with 4 weeks of economics, accounting, modeling, valuation, applied corporate finance and credit analysis training and culminate in a coverage assignment.
