Safety and Health Specialist

Job Title: Safety and Health Specialist
Location(s): Weldon Spring, Missouri
Hiring Range: $45,000 - $80,000/yr. (Depending on education and experience)
Status: Full-Time

RSI EnTech, LLC is recruiting for a Safety and Health Specialist

The Safety and Health Specialist will provide safety and health project support and oversight to the Legacy Management Support (LMS) team.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities (may include, but are not limited to):
  • Maintain current knowledge of Federal and State safety and health regulations as they pertain to the LMS safety and health program.
  • Reviews LMS safety and health requirements and hazard controls.
  • Writes technical reports of findings.
  • Provide input and oversight on field projects.
  • Provide safety and health planning support at the project-level.
  • Conducts assigned investigations to identify existing and potential health, safety and environmental control issues at work sites.
Non-essential functions:
  • May assist with preparation and writing of safety and health policies and procedures.
  • May assists with technical proposal preparation.
  • May assists with the direction of subcontractors.
  • May lead certain aspects of a task or project.
  • May train and mentor more junior staff.
 
Job Specifications:
Education and/or Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of fundamental principles, concepts, and techniques in the fields health physics, industrial hygiene and safety; and a general familiarity with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of a health and safety program.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in construction safety oversight, is preferred
 
Skills/Certifications
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Very strong verbal communication skills
  • Current or willing to work towards safety and health certification (e.g., ASP, CSP, OHST)
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making and teamwork skills
  • Ability to independently organize own work to meet established objectives, using discretion in performing duties.
  • Strong computer skills, specifically in using Microsoft Office suite programs
 
Working Conditions and Physical/Mental Demands Requirements:
Sedentary Work Category – The employee must remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. The person in this position frequently communicates with others who have inquiries. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Constantly works inside an office environment. Frequently moves documents and objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Must be able to observe and learn technical material and emails.
