The purpose of this internship is to prepare college students for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization. The program is designed to provide you with a full experience so that you can fully envision a career with Zebra. You will be positioned for success with training, exposure to all parts of the business, social activities, a professional mentor relationship and development sessions to help you discover your own performance edge! 
 
Zebra’s IT Engineering Hardware team is responsible for solution expertise and managing end to end critical engineering processes, design applications, and system architecture. This includes strong partnership with engineering community to meet their current and future business strategies. The team also is responsible for the research, analysis, requirements, design, coding, testing, and integration of software features, and all software management, integration, and validation activities to support Zebra’s engineering teams. In addition, the team provides technical and other leadership in working through issues with other teams and follow up of issues to conclusion. 

Responsibilities

  • Project work may include:
  • Thermal Analysis application evaluation and process development – evaluate available tools, integrate data transfer, format results 
  • Materials Library integration across all tools – develop data transfer of material libraries between Mechanical and Electrical applications 
  • 3D Model integration to PCB tools – develop data transfer process of 3D models from Mechanical to Electrical applications  
  • Antenna Model integration between Mechanical and RF application tools – develop data transfer process of 3D models from Mechanical to RF applications 
  • Collaboration process improvement – collect requirements and develop solutions for improved collaboration. 
  • ME tools in the Cloud – research new cloud capabilities looking for performance and cost opportunities to digitize Mechanical applications systems 
  • Participate in Agile daily scrums
  • Demonstrate completed work in Agile Sprint Reviews
  • Participate in Agile Spring planning/Retrospective sessions
  • Develop planning, organizational and leadership skills
  • Increase technology knowledge and skills
  • Develop team-based work proficiencies
  • Develop interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow up activities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate degree program in Engineering Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science 
  • Must have an anticipated graduation date between May 2022 - May 2023
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the primary work location 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience or exposure to Mechanical Engineering processes and applications 
  • Experience or exposure to System Architecture for both Hardware and Cloud environments 
  • Knowledge or experience with Agile methodology for product delivery 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
  • Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiences
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
