The RF Engineering Department is part of Zebra Technologies' Enterprise Visibility and Mobility (EVM) Division. EVM develops highly ruggedized handheld mobile computer products used for Enterprise Mobility-based applications that contain a whole host of RF/wireless technologies, each paired with their associated embedded antennas - these devices are used for both indoor and outdoor mission-critical Enterprise applications to improve Customer productivity through real-time access to collected data at the point of activity. The RF Engineering Department is focused on the specification, conceptualization, development, and certification of each of the required radio technologies and their associated antenna system solutions for these products in Zebra's exciting product portfolio. 

Responsibilities

  • Conduct advanced design RF front-end engineering including work with:
  • Component libraries: passive/matching/active
  • design toolkits and templates: schematic & data display
  • data importation and exportation 
  • Perform locationing performance benchmark/validation/enhancement 
  • Conduct device tear-down and performance benchmark/validation/enhancement
  • Produce hardware/software design and solutions 
  • Perform data analysis and post-processing
  • Write-up technical reports and documents 
  • Develop planning, organizational and leadership skills
  • Increase technology knowledge and skills
  • Develop team-based work proficiencies
  • Develop interpersonal skills to connect with day-to-day business contacts through follow up activities

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate (BSEE)/graduate degree (MSEE) program in Radio Frequency Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Antenna Engineering, or similar field of study
  • Must have an anticipated graduation date between May 2022 - May 2024 
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the primary work location 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge of electronics 
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and experience
  • Basic coding skills with Python, Java, or other similar language 
  • Knowledge of cellular radio standard and carrier requirements
  • Relevant experience in RF including direct expertise in transmitter and receiver system design 
  • Strong understanding of antenna array theory and associated measurement methods 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
  • Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiences
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a team
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
