Southwest Florida`s news leader has an opening for a news photojournalist. We are looking for a person who believes in solid journalism, must have high production values and tell a story with strong video following NPPA standards.
Capture and edit visual television news content for multiple platforms. Photographers also operate various news gathering equipment, including but not limited to microwave live truck, video camera, and video editing equipment.
Photographers work in tandem with newsroom personnel to create and develop news stories.
MUST HAVE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism or related degree or equivalent years of experience
  • Must demonstrate superior photography and editing skills and be capable of working well with others.
  • Nonlinear editing experience a must and live truck/LiveU experience is necessary, but will teach if necessary.
  • Two years of television news photography is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with lighting and computer based editing.
  • Demonstrated creativity, editorial judgment, journalistic ethics and knowledge of libel laws
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in posting content to station’s web sites
  • Able to work efficiently under multiple deadlines on a daily basis
  • Must be able to work night and day shifts
Additional Requirements
  • Must be able to carry and set up ENG equipment often weighing 50lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required. In addition, proof of insurance and liability coverage may be required.
