Patient Care Specialist (Internship Program)

Join Lakeview Specialty Hospital's team of skilled, dedicated and team-oriented professionals in providing care, assistance and treatment to our patients. We specialize in caring for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries and other complex neurobehavioral conditions. 

Patient Care Specialists have a flexible schedule and diverse skill set, enabling them to step into a wide variety of direct-care roles throughout the organization as needs arise. This newly-created role is a fantastic opportunity to experience various direct care positions within a multifaced and unique health care facility.

What we can expect from you:
  • You have a passion for helping others and are driven to explore the healthcare field through a variety of roles and responsibilities
  • You are interested in working the following positions (training and certifications provided):
  1. Resident Assistant (RA) in Lakeview's CBRF
  2. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in our Hospital department
  3. Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with Critical Care Paramedics
  • You are a high school graduate or equivalent
  • You have at least one year experience working with an acute population (preferred, not required)
  • You are willing to work three 12-hour shifts each week and be scheduled for rotating weekends and holidays with some flexibility in scheduling available

What you can expect to earn and learn after your time with us:
  • State of Wisconsin CBRF certification
  • State of Wisconsin Certified Nursing Aid certification
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification
  • State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician – Basic certification
  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician certification
  • Hands-on experience and absolutely NO student debt at the end of your term
  • Exposure to a plethora of healthcare careers and experience working with professionals in all areas of our facility
