OVERVIEW:
Working as a Full-Time Income Tax Accountant, you will participate in a fast-paced work environment focusing on a variety of federal, state, and foreign income tax matters for Fastenal's world-wide locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Preparing quarterly and annual income tax provision schedules and working with outside tax advisors
o Preparing income tax schedules and tax return filing
o Coordinating tax return preparation activities
o Reviewing tax returns prepared by external tax advisors
o Analyzing and calculating return to provision adjustments
o Assisting with income tax examination activities
o Completing tax related reconciliations
o Performing transfer pricing planning, analysis, and documentation activities
o Assisting with tax related development
o Assisting with monthly and quarterly financial close and reporting procedures
o Completing special projects and other administrative tasks as needed
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Possess or are working towards a Bachelor's degree in an Accounting, Business, Finance related area OR have relevant work experience
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Highly motivated, self directed and customer service oriented
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning and prioritizing abilities
o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning and decision making skills
o Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
o Ability to pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Experience with accounting for income taxes
o Proficient using PeopleSoft
