Marketing Internship

 

MARKETING INTERN


Twin Cities PBS (TPT) is one of the most innovative public media organizations in the country. Every day, TPT uses the power of media to advance the arts, spur engagement and learning, help young people succeed and support adults age vitally. TPT is offering a paid summer Marketing internship working approximately 20-24 hours per week. The Marketing intern will learn and assist in developing and documenting critical information related to the TPT brand, community engagement, and audience development.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
  • Learn how to collect information on specific audience segments throughout the Twin Cities Community and assist our marketing team with this effort. This includes online research and compiling documentation of key organizations, media, influencers, government officials and others in specific communities to increase TPTs awareness.
  • With the collected information above, create an advertising campaign to raise awareness of TPT in a specific, underserved community.
  • As part of a larger Brand Strategy initiative, research brand and website assets of other public media organizations similar to TPT. Includes researching core narratives, voice, tone, and personality of like organizations and proposing recommendations for TPT.
  • Learn how to collect data on TPT social media presence and assist the marketing team with collection, research best practices, create strategies to increase awareness and engagement. Present findings to Marketing team.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Interns must be enrolled in a higher education program and pursuing a career in marketing, communications, media, or other relevant program.
  • This is a remote work position. Ability to work remotely and manage time effectively is a must.
  • Experience interacting or communicating with ethnically diverse communities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills including email communication, online presentations, building rapport virtually.
  • Ability to navigate projects with ambiguity and prioritize work effectively.
  • Ability to effectively use search engines to mine the internet for data and information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft suite of products.
  • Able to create compelling Powerpoint Presentations.
  • Able to work at a computer for extended lengths of time.
