Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers is an independent, non-profit healthcare provider, caring for Western Wisconsin. We provide medical, dental, chiropractic, massage therapy, acupuncture, behavioral health, health education and pharmacy services for patients in Monroe, Vernon, Crawford and La Crosse counties.

Scenic Bluffs Community Health Centers is looking for a full time Insurance Biller to join our team in Cashton, WI. The individual is responsible for ensuring that accurate procedural and diagnosis coding has been used by providers submitting claims for reimbursement and responding to coding appeals submitted by providers through review of medical documentation provided. The position will also work with internal staff and external business partners to do comprehensive analysis of coding patterns. The individual will also provide oversight and project management of billing aspects of the Health Centers.

Qualifications
The individual must respect the confidentiality of patient information while performing job duties and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and public. The individual must also posses a strong knowledge of intake and registration process and insurance billing systems, knowledge of current insurance billing practices, problem solving skills and ability to work without constant supervision.

Education and/or Experience
The individual must have earned an Associate degree in business or equivalent form a two year college or technical school; a Health Information Technology or Health Information Management degree or have three to five years related experience and/or training in health care billing, coding and patient accounts. Significant knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical medicine knowledge to ensure proper code selection is preferred. Certification in one of the following medical coding is also required: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Associate (CCA) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS).

Computer Skills
The individual must possess the knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software; ability to learn patient management information system functions of appointment scheduling, charge entry, payment transactions, etc.
