Director of Clinical Operations

Position Summary
The Director of Clinical Operations for Associated Eye Care is responsible for the direction and ongoing management of all non-surgical clinical services operations across all sites of patient services delivery. Performance outcome categories for this position include: clinical service delivery effectiveness, the performance of managerial and supervisory staff working under the Director, the quality of the patient experience within the clinical care environment, the efficiency and productivity of the clinical providers, operating budget management, and optimization of related facilities and clinical services assets. The Director of Clinical Operations is also responsible for the maintenance and availability of operations performance scorecards, new clinical programming implementations, and day-to-day operations problem solving efforts of the operations management team.
 
Essential Functions
·        Works with physician President, or designee, to ensure that all providers are properly assigned to the right locations at the right times.
·        Ensures that subordinate managerial staff are effectively managing clinic location staffing and staff are performing at high levels of proficiency, while delivering a superior clinical and patient experience.
·        Ensures that operating clinical services budgets are well managed and are effectively used as educational and training tools for managerial staff reports.
·        Ensures that patient services scheduling, including provider services templates are current and produce efficient and well-managed daily patient flows through the clinical sites.
·        Hires, develops and oversees the performance of the staff who managerial reports oversee.
·        Helps develop, maintain and effectively apply operations performance scorecards, using them for reporting to senior leaders and as tools for effective development and management of direct reports.
·        Demonstrates effective team building and serves as an exemplar of professionalism for all providers and clinical staff.
·        Leads operations innovation to meet the organization’s strategy and need to remain competitive.
·        Works as a member and peer of the Director team led by the CEO of the management services organization; is responsible for effective integration and coordination of operations with clinical support services.
·        Is an effective educator and a developer of the staff directed.
·        Works with the providers to create efficient and productive operations. Works directly with providers in services delivery problem solving.
·        Can undertake cost analyses related to clinical programming, including applications of related assets, facilities and clinical technologies.

Education & Licensing
·        Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree a plus
Experience
·        3-5 years of increasing responsibility and experience overseeing and managing clinical operations required
·        Collaboration with clinical services business support leadership preferred
·        Experience in hands-on clinical services growth and development situations preferred
·        Track record of working with physician/provider leaders preferred
·        Eye care clinical experience a plus, but not required
