Engineering Summer Intern - Electrical
PURPOSE: Assist the Electrical Engineering and the Substation Design Departments in the study, design, documentation, and implementation of various protection, metering, control and physical design projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide assistance in maintenance of DPC’s fault and protection modeling software.
- Assist with current projects that may include research, creation of working drawings, engineering calculations and completion of as-built documents.
- Assist in ground grid design and testing.
- Assist with substation real and reactive power studies.
- Assist in transmission substation protection and control design and drafting.
- Assist in transmission and distribution substation physical design and drafting.
- Provide assistance as directed for compliance related activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience: Student pursuing a field in electrical engineering. Prefer basic three-phase power knowledge or experience. Power production and transmission knowledge is beneficial.
Skills: Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook). Ability to communicate effectively written and verbally.
Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver’s License.
