Engineer Intern - Injection Molding

At Amcor Rigid Packaging (ARP), our teams are focused on developing and making plastic bottles and jars that create a unique experience and are better for the environment. Our bottles and jars are primarily made from PET (polyethylene terephthalate), which has rapidly become the world’s preferred packaging material. PET is lightweight, shatterproof, recloseable, resealable, reusable and infinitely recyclable*.

Internship Opportunity:
Intern will have exposure from raw material through the preform production process as well as minor Lean principles. The opportunity is hands-on and on-floor exposure 
  • Floor level diagnosis of scrap reduction and trending increased uptime. Injection scrap is trending high and varies from shift to shift, the intern will be tasked to dive into the data and go the next level on identifying scrap reduction opportunities. 
  • Dry cycle analysis and running a register of open opportunities for increased cycle efficiency 
  • Reducing downtime due to resin changes, color changes, and line clears
  • 5S activity in the mold shop
