IT Intern - Help Desk Specialist

Position Summary:
This position provides IT help desk support functions as well as gains exposure to and assists with all aspects of IT department.

Key Duties and Responsibilities: This list of responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities required to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
·        Acts as the first point of contact for IT support
·        Handles problems directly when within scope of knowledge, experience, and authority
·        Tracks support calls through help desk system
·        Triages calls / requests and communicates with appropriate IT personnel
·        Communicates with IT team on a regular basis with updates on projects, tasks and help desk activity

Personal Attributes and Skills
·        Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
·        Ability to assist and train stakeholders using a variety of systems including remote support.
·        Must be adaptable to a variety of learning styles and capacities, with the ability to demonstrate a consistently calm, positive, and encouraging demeanor.
·        Proficient computer and typing skills. This includes experience with Microsoft office.

Qualifications
·        Obtaining Associate or Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
·        Must display a friendly cheerful, tactful and polite demeanor, and compassionate caring in dealing with others
·        Must have proficient computer and typing skills. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
