Summer Coastal Training Program Assistant
MISSION
The Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve (DNERR) is one of 29 National Research Reserves across the country whose goal is to establish, protect, and manage natural estuarine habitats for research, education, and coastal stewardship. It was established in 1993 and is a cooperative program between the State of Delaware and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Our mission at the DNERR is promoting effective stewardship of estuarine and coastal ecosystems through education, outreach, partnerships and research.
DESCRIPTION
Delaware National Estuarine Research Reserve (DNERR) is currently seeking applications for a Coastal Training Program Assistant Intern. The intern will assist the Coastal Training Program (CTP) Coordinator with a literature review project regarding carrying capacity of navigable waterways to help inform decision making as it relates to recreational use of waterways and the permitting associated with structures to support the recreational activities. The outcomes will include a literature review and a gaps analysis report. The intern will also support other CTP activities such as trainings as needed.

- Summer – 12 weeks
- Full‐time ‐ 37.5 hours per week
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct a literature review
- Conduct a gaps analysis
- Technical writing
- Coordinate with other DNERR staff including research staff
- Assist in marketing
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Experience public speaking
- Ability to work independently
- Microsoft Office experience
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Technical report writing
- Interest/knowledge of GIS
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and own transportation
