Human Resources Part-time or Intern (Bilingual)

The Human Resource Intern will assist the Human Resources Department with various HR assignments and projects within Lactalis American Group (LAG). The HR Intern will support a team of HR professionals with projects in the areas of payroll & benefits, HR systems management, setting up employee interviews, processing employee hires, changes and terminations, various HR projects and other capacities of Human Resources.

Pay: Pay is dependent upon skills and experience.

Hours: Hours can be flexible and may vary depending upon school schedule. Part-time during the school year; full-time during summer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  1. Assist with recruiting
  2. Schedule interviews
  3. Provide verbal translation and translate documentation into Spanish
  4. Set up orientations, plant tours, and assist with onboarding process
  5. Assist with maintaining common areas, uniforms and employee Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  6. Assist with the planning and execution of special events and activities
  7. Assist with payroll-related responsibilities, documentation and tracking
  8. Assist with employee training
  9. Actively work with and communicate with other departments to assist with their human resources needs
  10. Audit employee files, policies and procedures
  11. Review, correct, and track various human resources documents and forms
  12. Scan employee records
  13. Other duties or tasks as assigned

Requirements
Education
  • Recent graduate or current college student in his or her sophomore year or greater, working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business with a concentration in HR Management

Experience
  • Previous experience working with human resources preferred
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred

Specialized Knowledge
  • Basic understanding of human resources concepts and topics
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required

Skills/Abilities
  • Familiarity with computer operation
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive HR information
