Director of Product Innovation

Summary: Data Trust, a dynamic political data organization focused on center-right leaning advocacy and support is actively seeking a Director of Product Innovation. This full-time position will manage visionary growth and product development for Data Trust. Product Innovation responsibilities include the ability to effectively understand current products and services, as well as present new expansion opportunities that can over time be applied to benefit all facets of the company. This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, efficient and reliable self-organization, and a robust desire to learn how and why each product that is currently offered is necessary. A large amount of creativity, entrepreneurship, and independence is expected with this role. This position will report directly to the Chief Data Officer, have some budgetary authority and wide access to core company departments & their staff.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of all Data Trust products, acting as the main intermediary between divisions about growth and innovation concepts
  • Spearhead exploratory outreach for current product expansion and new product creation
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for seamless execution of projects
  • Manage defining project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant participants and ensuring goals are technically achievable
  • Effectively execute project timelines and expectations
  • Track project performance to analyze the successful accomplishment of short and long-term goals
  • Manage project documentation and any changes to project scope, schedule, and technical needs
  • Oversee development of established request and product use processes

Skills and Requirements:
  • Full stack development - SQL skills mandatory, one or more of the following coding languages/skills encouraged:Python/C#
  • Data visualization
  • HTML/Java
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a data-centric role, with a political background or interest
  • Previous experience managing a product is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent client-facing and inhouse communication skills
  • Strong organization skills including attention to detail and multitasking
  • Proven work experience in project management; corporate experience encouraged but not required
  • Ability to implement process improvement
  • Desire to learn data and technical concepts
  • An understanding and willingness to work outside of our 9-6 business hours as needed
