Transportation Analyst Intern
Summary
Responsible for working closely with the Operations team to develop a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) using established stop sequence information to correct customer sequencing and reduce hours/miles driven while ensuring safety compliance/customer satisfaction. You will also work with the team to reduce lease costs by returning unneeded equipment and identify unprofitable routes using a simple assessment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but not limited to:
- Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.
- Become familiar with operations and transportation functions.
- Observe truck loading procedures
- Become familiar with all aspects of routing and telematics programs
- Generate data for analysis to improve internal efficiencies and maximize profitability
- Implement changes to procedures and measure successes
- Prepare project overview and present findings to executive leadership
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
Required:
- Pursuit of an undergraduate degree or graduate degree
- Degree in Operations or Logistics Management
Preferred:
- Targeted graduation of June 2021 or earlier
- Quick learner able to navigate the fast pace of the industry
- Ability to conceptualize processes from start to finish with strong analytic and synthesizing skills.
