Process Improvement Intern

Summary
Responsible for working with our in-shell production team to streamline our piece rate tracking system for oyster breaking.

Location
South Bend, WA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include but not limited to:
  • Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.
  • Work with production team to understand product flow, orders, and shipping
  • Identify improvements to current processes
  • Collaborate with team and management to recommend and implement process changes
  • Prepare project overview and present findings to executive leadership
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to successfully perform the job.

Education and Experience
Required:
  • Pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree
  • Degree or extensive coursework in Industrial Engineering, LEAN Manufacturing, Operations Management, or relevant subjects

Preferred:
  • Targeted graduation of June 2021 or earlier
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and methodologies (i.e. LEAN, Kaizen, Six Sigma)
