Distribution Operations Intern

Summary
We have 4 exciting opportunities for internships in our Clackamas Distribution Center responsible for process improvement, training, data analytics, and transportation logistics. You will work with teams in the DC learning how the warehouse operates and identifying areas for improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Special Projects Intern (2 positions)
  • Work with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Warehouse team to identify opportunities to streamline current processes
  • Collaborate with other interns to gather and analyze operation data to identify root causes for problems and recommend solutions
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures for DC processes including picking and receiving
  • Design training materials to support SOPs and help onboard new team members
Operations Analyst Intern (1 position)
  • Capture weekly overtime amounts and analyze data against team output and hours
  • Organize and present operations data for supervisors to help create informed decisions
  • Analyze operational budgets to recommend cost saving opportunities
Logistics Analyst (1 position)
  • Research current transportation system, routes, and distribution capabilities
  • Identify inefficient or costly distributions routes and provide recommendations for how to improve
  • Support transportation team in planning and implementing improvements
All positions:
  • Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.
  • Prepare project overview and present findings to executive leadership

Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to successfully perform the job.

Education and Experience
Required:
  • Pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree with a targeted graduation date of May or June 2021
  • Degree or extensive coursework in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering
  • Able to quickly adapt and respond to change
