Administrative Assistant

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to support Procurement Department personnel at all Fluor Marine Propulsion sites. This position requires performing clerical and administrative duties to support the managers and contracts professionals in support of their efforts placing purchase orders, paying invoices and administering contracts. The primary duties include: supporting the development and issuance of procurement letters and documents to ensure their quality, coordination of travel, procurement of office supplies, scheduling meetings, working with Financial Services to resolve minor billing disputes, maintaining SharePoint sites and coordination of electronic records.  This position will also involve participation in administrative projects and initiatives to improve processes within the NNL. Frequent interaction, teaming, and administrative support with peers outside of the department, located at all NNL sites, will also occur. The selected candidate will be required to apply administrative skills and knowledge of policies, practices and procedures to enhance organizational effectiveness. 

While position reports directly to a manager in the Procurement Department, the role requires support for the entire department relative to described responsibilities. 

REQUIRED SKILLS *

Intermediate:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four years of relevant experience; or 
  • Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university

Senior:
  • High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of six years of relevant experience; or 
  • Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of two years of relevant experience; or
  • Bachelor degree in a related field from an accredited college or university

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
