This full time permanent position is located at the new Hill Farms State Office Building on the near west side of Madison. We are also conveniently located close to the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment of the Hilldale Mall.

Position Summary:   

The Mortgage Banking Examiner is primarily responsible for conducting examinations, investigating complaints, analyzing financial reports and reviewing applications of licensees in the mortgage industry that are regulated by the Licensed Financial Services Bureau. This includes reviewing licensee’s financial statements, annual reports and business activity records in detail to determine compliance with laws, regulations and rules, and analyzing the financial statements to determine financial stability and responsibility.
The Licensed Financial Services Examiner will prepare reports to summarize and present the examination findings, identifying any specific violations of laws and regulations, weaknesses in the licensee’s financial condition, fitness of the licensee’s management and any other notable practices. This position will ensure the records are complete, up to date and accurate and work to resolve issues with the licensee if problems are detected.
Special Notes:   

This position requires the ability to travel independently for infrequent day and overnight travel.

This classification series is eligible to receive up to a total of four sequential $1.50 add-ons once criteria of each level is met.

Qualifications:   
A minimally qualified candidate must have training or experience in all of the following:
*Interpreting or applying rules and/or regulations
*Utilizing MS Office Suite and other financial software (i.e. accounting software, loan/bank/collections account software, etc.)
*Performing fiscal-related responsibilities (i.e. accounting, finance, loans, etc.)

A well-qualified candidate may also have experience in one or more of the following:
*Analyzing financial statements to identify trends or evaluate an entity
*Applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
*Completing auditing procedures
