The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and the Department of Human Services (DHS) together have launched a new COVID-19 Response and Recovery Unit (CRRU). The CRRU is recruiting for several Regional COVID-19 Testing Clinicians (Public Health Nurse 1) across Oregon.

The primary location of these positions is Portland. Each COVID-19 Testing Clinician will be assigned to serve one of the following regions:
Region 2: Yamhill, Polk, Marion, Lincoln, Benton, Linn
Region 5: Josephine, Jackson
Region 6: Hood River, Wasco, Sherman, Gilliam
Region 7: Jefferson, Wheeler, Grant, Crook, Deschutes, Klamath, Lake, Harney
Region 9: Morrow, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa, Baker, Malheur

What will you do?
The primary purpose of these positions is to provide clinical support to on site testing missions across Oregon as determined by the need of the communities and counties requiring support for testing access. The support will include collection of specimens from individuals attending a testing site coordinated by or with the Regional Health Care Coalition (RHCC). These positions serve as key contacts between county, regional, and state public health systems focused on increasing access to Covid-19 testing across Oregon. These positions will work closely with emergency preparedness and response partners and the Regional Coalition Support Team in Healthcare Preparedness Program (HPP) Regions in Oregon.

What are we looking for?
Requested Skills
·        Minimum Requirements: A Master’s degree in either Nursing or Public Health and two years of recent (within the last ten years) nursing experience OR a bachelor’s degree in Nursing and three years of recent (within the last ten years) nursing experience.
Special Qualifications: Must have a valid license to practice as a registered nurse in Oregon.
This position requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
This position requires the ability to routinely travel overnight.
Experience and familiarity with personal computers and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Rigorous adherence to the highest standards of confidentiality regarding patient information and information security.
Preference will be given to individuals with experience in healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and expertise in infection control.
Preference will be given to individuals with public health experience and infectious disease surveillance.
Experience being able to communicate effectively with federal, regional, local, state and non-governmental public health and public safety staff, including management and policy-level officials.
Excellent demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
This position will require registration in the Health Alert Network (HAN) to receive important public health alerts and emergency notifications.
This position will be expected to complete the following Incident Command System (ICS) courses within 180-days of hire and be willing to attend other ICS courses as directed: ICS-100, ICS-200
