Highway Engineering Intern

The Chippewa County Highway Department is seeking an intern in the engineering unit. The job duties of the Engineering Intern include highway and bridge engineering and surveying, construction and maintenance inspection, and construction and maintenance materials handling under the supervision of one or more Highway Department Supervisors. This position is a seasonal position working 40 hours per week from approximately May through September for a maximum of 720 hours.

 

Minimum Qualifications: H.S. diploma/GED required. Must have completed 2 semesters of higher education coursework related to civil engineering or other related course of study with a transportation or road and bridge construction emphasis. Knowledge and/or experience in the fundamentals of drafting and surveying (level and transit) preferred. Knowledge of construction techniques and materials, AutoCAD and/or Civil3D software preferred. Wage: $16.46 per hour. This is a non-benefited position.
