Consultant Liaison
Up to $98,428 annually
St. Paul, MN

This position is the liaison between the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and consultants to improve and maintain relationships with the professional/technical consultant community with a focus on small business community. You will provide expert liaison, facilitation, negotiation and mediation services for the department to bridge partnership and relationship gaps. You will engage the department in partnership events, such as the Minnesota Transportation Conference.  You will advance equity for small businesses by seeking collaboration between their capabilities and MnDOT's needs, providing contractual opportunities and assisting them in overcoming barriers to becoming qualified to perform work for the State.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Three years of advanced professional experience that includes the bullets below. (Advanced professional experience would be considered MAPE 10L level and above with State of Minnesota agencies or equivalent experience outside of state agencies.)
•Experience in project planning and operations including to organize projects with others, establish goals and timetables, clarify expectations and evaluate results.
•Experience in problem solving, researching and disseminating complicated information related to laws, business practices and policies.
•Experience with State and Federal contracting laws.
•Human relations and communication skills sufficient to negotiate, persuade, influence and direct the work of others who are not direct reports, but critical to accomplishing work. 

Note: Advanced professional experience would be considered MAPE 10L level (Accounting Officer Senior, SPA Senior, etc.) and above or equivalent experience outside of the state
