2nd grade Teacher

1.                 Bachelor’s degree required. Highly Qualified as an Elementary Instructor.   Possess or be able to obtain Michigan Teaching Certification

2.                 Experience in teaching elementary students preferred.

3.                 Knowledge of the M-Step assessments preferred

4.                 Experience in creating and using both formative and summative assessments

5.                 Professional development in Common Core State Standards in the four core areas preferred. Familiarity with MAISA units preferred, along with a commitment to ongoing professional development

6.                 Demonstrate enthusiasm and expertise in working with elementary students.

7.                 Demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of students including At-Risk and Special Education Students.

8.                 Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with peers on numerous methodologies.

9.                 Demonstrate ability to implement effective instructional strategies to improve student achievement

10.             Demonstrate ability to read, understand and interpret standardized test scores.

11.             Meet the standards and qualifications of Every Student Succeeds Act.

12.             Positive public relations and communication skills required

13.             Ability to demonstrate effective classroom management techniques

14.             Ability to build and maintain positive relationships

15.             Ability to work cooperatively within a team
