Financial Analysis & Pricing Specialist

You’ll do this through careful analysis of pricing data, creating reports, and sharing your insight about how we can improve our performance. You’ll work closely with the Sentry team using data and solid business principles to analyze and rewrite rates. You’ll build reporting to share and clarify where there are items that need attention. If you like putting together thoughtful analysis and drawing solid business conclusions, while executing your function, this could be the role that matches and shapes your future.

 
What You'll Do
As a Financial Analysis & Pricing Specialist, you’ll work collaboratively with associates through the company to make sure our pricing produces strong business results and helps retain customers. In addition, you’ll:
•   Develop tools and methods to monitor and evaluate financial and pricing impacts
•   Conduct analyses and research in such areas as financial performance, rate of return, product pricing, rate structures, market penetration, claim trends, and sales
•   Use various data retrieval sources to obtain and analyze financial and operating data
•   Perform market and competitive analysis, balancing competitive pricing with profitability and recommending courses of action to take advantage of market opportunities
•   Prepare forecasts and analyze trends in such areas as loss ratios, general business conditions, and other related areas
 
What it Takes
•   Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
•   0-5 years of pricing work experience
•   Successful education and/or experience in an area such as accounting, actuarial, financial, or insurance
•   Analytic and research ability, and previous analysis experience particularly in the insurance industry is helpful
•   Organizational skills to coordinate, request, and control data from numerous sources
•   Good working knowledge of PC-based business software, including MS Office and advanced Excel skills – SAS and SQL knowledge is helpful
