Network Admin II

Summary:
 

The Network Administrator II is responsible for effective installation/configuration, operation, tuning, supporting, and monitoring of all Rogers Behavioral Health technology network systems and services. This position is accountable for assisting in support of the infrastructure, networking, and telecom systems as directed by the Manager of Infrastructure Architecture. The Network Administrator II will apply agile methods through team self-organization by participating in daily scrum meetings to facilitate the development and operation of technology optimizations and solutions. This position will also provide upper level technical support by acting as an escalation point for complex requests for their solution area while continuously developing their network knowledge in designing, implementing and maintaining solutions for their assigned areas. The Network Administrator II will coordinate network activities with the Managed Services provider, collaborating with the provider on any issues and changes as directed by the Manager.
 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
 
  • Develop, organize and deliver network administration support to all levels of the organization.
  • Provide advice and network administration for the Clinical Technology Services staff in support of departmental operations.
  • Work with system and network administrators on the design of new or upgraded systems, connectivity, and server design, configuration and set-up.
  • Collaborate with system administrators on existing and new application needs. Provide technical support as needed.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network devices. Respond to off hours alerts, escalation point to resolve.
  • Maintain support tasks surrounding network administration.
  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot company network infrastructure.
  • Responsible for the creation, deployment and upkeep of network devices
  • Maintain, monitor and troubleshoot all company network-based services
  • Maintain infrastructure security. Keep assigned network devices current with updates and patches as needed
  • Manage daily administration and monitoring of the infrastructure ensuring defined metrics are met.
  • Perform programming of network devices (e.g. Cisco™ IOS).
  • Perform residual on-site datacenter responsibilities. Rack, stack, cable, and organize as required.
  • Maintain, monitor infrastructure devices warranty & support.
  • Define and document best practice for network administration and security along with related policies and procedures that confirm to industry standards, and advise when technology updates to the Rogers Behavioral Health network devices should be considered.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Enables development and optimization in the network team using agile methods to deliver quality products & services in a timely fashion.
  • Promotes self-organization in the network team through active participation in daily scrum meetings and consistent demonstration of core scrum values.
  • Participates in identifying, monitoring, and meeting key performance metrics to drive continuous process improvement.
  • Promotes efficiency by participating in identifying and removing impediments to daily task completion within the network team.
  • Assists in ensuring proper prioritization of projects and tasks within the network team.
  • Service as main point of contact for support of activities surrounding the Managed Services provider and other external vendors/contractors.
  • Administer and support Rogers Behavioral Health IT systems, coordinating with the managed services provider.
  • Coordinate with Managed Services Provider to perform scheduled tasks at required intervals.
  • Beginning escalation point for network issues, coordinating with technical teams, managed service provider and vendors to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration change control procedures, mitigating impact to users. Communicate and coordinate changes with managed service provider.
  • Troubleshoot network performance issues as needed. Collaborate with managed service provider on resolution.
  • Respond to alerts, resolve or escalate issues as necessary. Collaborate with managed service provider.
  • Collaborate with managed service provider on recovery needs.
  • Coordinate any voice and data cable needs with contractors. Responsible for cable patching to ensure connectivity needs are met.
  • Assist in promoting a team atmosphere by treating individuals with respect and honesty and by using direct communication and active listening skills.
