Safety Intern

As a Safety Intern, assignments vary according to business need and intern qualifications. All are designed to stretch your skills and to support your professional development by providing clear goals and actionable feedback on your performance. In addition, you will be participating in an 11 week program that encompasses:

  • Interact with other Masonite departments and plant operations
  • Develop personal and professional skills through training, networking and mentoring relationships
  • Build teamwork skills through interaction with other interns and colleagues
  • Approximately ten-week summer assignment at Masonite in Marshfield, WI
  • Interactions with senior leaders during intern activities such as lunch-and-learn events and leadership dialogues

Responsibilities:

  • As a Safety Intern you will participate in all aspects of safety and health to include, key safety improvement projects, industrial hygiene, life safety criticals, as well as participate in day to day activities with the safety team
  • Help with safety reporting and metrics. In addition, the safety intern will assist with floor safety audits and safety training development
  • Assist with the safety team to develop solutions and communicate results to the appropriate groups. Work with the Safety Manager to compile necessary documentation and correspondence to comply with regulatory standards
  • Be involved in safety-oriented teams such as safety improvement events, safety committee and proactive approach to safety teams
  • Provide workers compensative support. Help provide data and research for our monthly safety meetings


Education:

  •  Currently enrolled in a University Major: Continuous Improvement, Quality, Occupational Safety & Health Organizational Development or similar related field
  • Junior or Senior
